Retreat!!!

no this is not some call from the battlefront, rather it was the crowning achievement of this past weekend in my life. i have been serving this last year on a student group council for the married students at mbi. our major event of the year was this last weekend. a retreat that allowed 50 couples to get away from the studies and the stresses of married student life and just focus in on their marriages! what an honor to serve these couples in this way.
the weekend was a booming sucess with more than double the number of couples that went last year. we were challenged from scripture to build marriages that last, breaking the statistics of this fallen world.
while overall my wife and i didn't get a whole lot of relaxing done it was just so refreshing to get away from the normal run of the mill and have time together. marriage today is under attack and i think that satan would love nothing more than to continue this pattern. it is so crucial to keep and protect our marriages, not only against forces from outside that could divide us but also to bring god into our marriage to keep our marriage bound together.
i thank god for his provision that helped to provide a getaway for these couples and for giving us the chance to minister to them.
