a day off

monday's are my only day of the week when i have nothing "scheduled". unfortunately today my wife had to work so i'm by myself. i slept in this morning which was so totally worth while, after getting up and brushing my teeth (yeah i do that sometimes) i sat down for some time with god. i am continuing to read out of colossians and was again amazed by the grace of god as i read about half of the second chapter. normally by now i would have flipped on the tv or something else to distract me but for this morning i have no other desire than to spend time reflecting and reading.
after sitting at my desk for an hour or so i decided to make the journey to comp usa to take my computer in for the 4th time in about six weeks. they keep trying to fix it but have not gotten rid of the problem. i told them to either fix it this time or give me a new computer, it's driving me nuts! one good thing though is that i had time on the train to spend reading a book that i'm just starting called "celebration of discipline" by richard foster. i'm really convicted that this life is meant for so much more than just waiting to die so that we can go to heaven, and foster's book was a refreshing reminder of what a spiritual journey can be.
now i'm back at home enjoying some ring bologna and soup for lunch and talking to our birds while we listen to some coldplay. i'm not sure what the afternoon has in store but i'm looking forward to more reading and spending time with my wife when she gets home.
take some time to slow down today! please....for all our sakes!

I can't wait until I can take a day off. I think my days off were Saturday and Sunday when I could barely get out of bed because I was so tired and had a high temp. Apparently I've caught a virus that is going around, that causes one to have a fever and be tired, but with no other symptoms...interesting huh? Glad you enjoyed your time off..hope you got your computer fixed..and yeah, you enjoy your time off while I work on homework. :)I'm sure you miss those days!
