i find myself very much in the christmas spirit this afternoon. on black friday we went on the traditional pilgrimage to the local home depot to pick out our christmas tree. somehow it is always about 15 degrees colder in the tree section then when you're outside in the blowing wind and snow. i have a theory about this. i believe that christmas trees have an inate ability to give off coldness. i call this the freezability sap of the douglas fir. this has been confirmed as the apartment has been colder of late than before we had our dead tree in place. further evidence to this fact is that pine trees generally only exist in cold(er) places. think about it when was the last time you saw a postcard of a carribean beach with a plethera of christmas trees growing in the sand. anyway...
now i'm enjoying the seasonal christmas music of reliant K and thinking about all the good things of christmas. family food friends food traveling oh did i mention food? there is nothing like the season that celebrates the incarnation of god into man! don't miss the meaning this christmas even though it's easy to get caught up in the festivities. god came to us, he came to die, we are so unworthy of such incredible love. take time out from the chaos to look for god, he's waiting with open arms to love us so much.
