does god still work today? we've seen him show up quite a bit lately. a few weeks ago i blogged about a marriage retreat that i helped plan/run for more than 50 married couples here at mbi. as you can probably imagine an event like this comes a no small price especially since the hotel we used gets a pretty penny for their rooms and we had the couples only pay $50 for the weekend. we basically found ourselves looking at raising over $6,000 for the retreat, and god showed up in a big way.
going into this event the number looked unsurmountable but as we prayed we had the joy of watching god provide. little by little the funds came in and in the end he provided more than enough funding to cover the retreat.
the whole event was incredible to see god show his abundant provision not only financially but in the whole weekend from worship, to the speaker, to the fellowship. what an amazing god we serve!
