last weekend we went camping with some great friends to a local state park. now the camping in the midwest is less than par but we've managed to find a couple of cool escapes that are only between 1-3 hours from the city. anyway, we spent the weekend eating, bike riding, and enjoying the sunshine. it was definately a good escape!
while we were out riding on saturday we came to the end of an old road that dead ends into lake michigan. as we gazed over the end of the road we noticed a guy laying on the concrete below us. as we were deciding if we should check on him another guy walks up the beach and checks on him noticing blood gushing from his head and blood on the rocks around. upon further inspection we also noticed that he had a bag with six or eight empty beer cans and one still hanging around in his hand.
after calling 911 and waiting far to long for them to get an ambulance into the secluded part of the park, all was resolved and we were back on our way. the guy ended up just being very drunk and it looked like he just walked off the end of the road and gashed his head open on the concrete below and was now sleeping it off in the saturday sun.
so that was exciting....other than that it was just a totally fun weekend of enjoying nature with good friends. i am so glad that summer has come back to chicago land and now we're all coming out of our winter hibernations and again enjoying the sun.

sounds like another fun benner adventure! you sure do know how to find excitement. let's hang back on some of that "excitement" when i'm in town, k?! glad you guys were able to get away with friends and into an environment (aka: the outdoors) where you both feel relaxed and comfortable! - tam
yeah we tend to never find ourselves in too dull times. life is so full of adventure and i'm glad that god has always seen us clearly through. we were gonna try skydiving when you (tam)come out but i guess....lol
