busy

now that it's been almost a month since i last updated, you can probably guess that i've been busy! you could guess that but you would be wrong. my life has been better classified lately as full, full of joy, stress, waiting and going. i have started working alongside our church about 3.5 days a week now. my role summed up as "urban missionary" which sounds lofty, but rather it basically means that i am able to do missions, in the inner city, with college students, and the structure of a local church.
in the US we have developed a "saltwater philosophy", which means that to do missions you must travel over a major body of salt water. however, the globalization of our world means that now all nations come to the cities of our country. we have more worldviews, cultures, diversity in a 2 mile radius around my house than i could ever experience in a lifetime of travel over-seas. i'll write more on this another time (or you can just wait for my book!)
so anyway, that has been keeping me plenty busy with trying to prepare to meet college students where they are at. aside from that i'm also helping out the church on sunday mornings with some production oriented stuff (worship, graphics, sound) which isn't a ton of extra but it does bring about 5 hours of duties on sunday mornings.
to help pay the bills while we continue to raise support as missionaries i have also been washing windows. this has been a lot of fun. it's good hard, clean work but what i love is that it provides me with so many opportunities to talk with folks i would've otherwise never interacted with. that's kinda cool if i say so myself! not to mention it pays really well...

so that's an update...i promise to write do a better job of writing again here soon.
