so much

wow, i have so much to write about, i'm not so sure what to talk about and what to ignore. this will probably generate several posts. how about starting this one with church stuff...

to many people's delight we have finally gotten our church website updated and working to download messages and music. let me encourage you all to check it out (the link is on the right hand column of this page). i love our church, it's become a home, where friendships and ministry happen and where we feel that we've been placed for a while to work. as i close in rapidly on the end of school (just over a week now) i'm really getting excited to begin working with college students in chicago. our church will be our hub of opperation (not as employees but rather as urban missionaries, using the church office for a base of operation) (wow that sounds cool, like some top secret operation, sorry i digress)

i really have begun to have a nitch of my heart being carved out for the city, a country boy by nature, which i can only describe as god given.

last night i had the opportunity to again pick up a team returning from a missions trip to guatemala (actually this morning at 2am). i love the excitement of their full hearts as they return, the stories, the ministry accomplished, i love it all. needless to say though it was a short night (3ish hours of sleep) and with my final presentation of my undergrad career this morning at 9am. i have found the perfect remedy for this though (take 1 large carmel macciato with an extra shot of expresso, that'll get the motor running!)

i have come to the realization (again) of just what this life has been intended for. money and career are much less critical, what really matters is god and being in community with others. my heart's greatest desire is to serve the family of god, to represent him well, and to love those he loves.
