eternal silence

after taking in some good time with my bible on tues. i decided to take a walk and snag some photos in the city. my day's thoughts led me down the street to graceland cemetary. i'd been meaning to find my way over to the historic cemetary some day, preferably while i was still breathing and on my own power.

i found this statue, i believe it's called "eternal silence" and couldn't resist it's haunting glare. the silence of the grave is starkly contrast to the life returning after the winters wrath. around the flowerbeds began to bloom and the birds sang their songs in the dreary light.

i was reminded of the fleeting time that is life and was thankful for my decision to stroll through the home of those who'd fallen asleep. it reminded me to take advantage of each day we're given b/c soon enough we'll join those who've passed.

this is dark i know, but hey that's how it is...
much love
