when you're lost...

so tonight i painted again for the first time since moving back to PA from chi-town. guess i just haven't been inspired or been able to create since, so tonight i found myself just having to make something. art, beauty, total junk... something. so i took out the last painting i did in the city, it was very dark and very lonely... i coated it in white, assigning it a new purpose and began to create... what came out is called "when you're lost in the forest, you have to burn it down." here's the piece and the game... whoever can tell me what it means... gets it... lol. you can leave your insights as posts to the original blog post at www.mind-fuzz.blogspot.com

from the looks of the piece and your title I'd say you were reflecting on the idea that sometimes it takes hard work, brokenness, and sometimes being completely wrecked in order for God to teach us what He needs to teach us and in order for us to actually become who He desires us to become. The idea of a prairie burning comes to my mind...every so many years (or maybe annually, i'm no expert) it is actually healthy to set fire to a prairie - causes old dead growth to leave, allowing for new growth.

love the painting and the idea behind it. encouraging. thanks phil!

i believe it means that when you are surrounded by things unknown, get rid of the distractions and focus on GOD. Often the business or routine of life can grow around us and we'll find ourselves lost. I think God is telling you to get a pipe, put some tasty tobacco in it, light it and get rid of distractions and just enjoy being a child of GOD.

love you brother.
