lunch with rick warren

today i had the pleasure of sitting across the table at a country club in michigan from rick warren and his wife. now before you start thinking much of me, it was not rick warren, pastor of sattleback church, rather this wonderful gentleman and his wife treated some friends of ours (and we tagged along) to lunch at the most incredible country club just outside of detroit, michigan.
this weekend we had a wonderful opportunity to help our very good friends, al and debbie, move from mbi to their new home at mts (michigan theological seminary). the move went very well, as we loaded the truck in a snowstorm, and then drove through the aftermath.
there we met some incredible folks that have invited them into their community and provided for their stay. on friday night we went to greenfield village, which is a community of historic american houses (things like thomas edisons labratory, lincoln's cabin, and about a hundred other incredible buildings) which apparently henery ford decided to collect and move to one place (i guess stamps weren't doing it for him). then today we met some more great folks and went out for dinner.
overall it was a great weekend of fun and new friends! the snow was awesome also!
