now that i am offically in my final semester at mbi i have decided to take the speed reading course. today was my first class and oh what a class it was....
you might ask, why now? well i decided to adopt the philosophy of better late than never in this case. last semester after spending hours and hours pouring through theology texts and hours and hours more working through journals, scripture, commentaries and other such materials, i decided that i read far too slowly. i think that my reading speed has about doubled since coming to mbi but the course offers to again double your speed. what a joyous day! no longer spending hours on a single couple of chapters.
i have never been a big reader but i now actually enjoy reading (insert gasp here). i am absolutely amazed at some of the thoughts that some people publish, much of which should never have been. ah well, what can you do. i plan to begin my own book in a couple years, so i guess the more i read now the better i may be able to bring little bits and pieces into my own writings. for now i hone my skills on the web, blogging my way through life.
