reflections

last week was mbi's 100th annual founder's week conference. each year the conference brings some of the biggest names in the christian circles to chicago for a week of challenge and encouragement. this year two speakers really stood out in my mind as the keys to the conference. they were james macdonald (pastor of harvest - a north suburb church) and andy stanley. with challenging messages focused around "the living word", both of these men brought the challenge of getting with the program spiritually. andy stanley especially hit me with his message on how we deal with feeling like god is absent/silent. he focused on the story of joseph in a very sarcastic manner that really brought home the idea that god is in control and we are challenged to make decisions that allign with his will even when we don't see the consequences of doing so. this link will take you to the founder's week page where all of the messages are archived so you can listen to them online:

you can also purchase cd's or mp3's from this website (or somewhere on www.moody.edu) if you want them to travel with you.

god has been challenging me to live each day to the fullest, focusing on holiness for the day, not living in the future.
this is my question for the day:
what do i need to do today to pursue a passionate relationship with god?
