is there any better way to rally friends (sometimes future enemies) together than to have them help you move? this past week/weekend was the moving marathon of the year. i ended up helping four different people move (one being my wife and I) starting on wed. and finally coming to the grand finale with the ridiculous moving of all our stuff. i have been quite convicted lately of the need to eliminate clutter in my life, not only physical "stuff" but emotional and spiritual baggage that has been weighing me down.
making our move possible was some of the most incredible friends that we've been blessed with. in the matter of a few hours we sucessfully moved all of our stuff out of the second floor on the southside, across the entire city, and up to the third floor on the northside. that was way more steps than anyone should ever have to tackle in a single day.
we have been blessed with a smaller two bedroom in a nice neighborhood (no more gunshots!) that is close to the church and neighborhood that we will be working in, for the next stage of our journey. i'm excited at the possibilities and thankful for the blessings. this is our third chicago apartment in under 4 years but this one might be the one where the most memories are made.
our new home is the third floor, middle bay window in the pic above. i'll post some inside pics when we get stuff put together
